Nominee funds allow people to donate to the eventual Democratic nominee in a specific federal race. Set up before primary elections, nominee funds give small-dollar donors a way to take action against the GOP even when elections are far off.
We immediately process nominee fund donations, just like any other contribution. When a candidate wins the Democratic nomination for a specific race, we transfer all of the money in the fund to the nominee. The Democrat can now start their campaign with crucial grassroots support.
All available nominee funds are in the ActBlue directory under the “Groups and Funds” section. Nominee funds are only for federal races with Republican incumbents.
Nominee funds differ from draft funds on ActBlue: nominee funds go to whichever candidate wins a specified Democratic primary and becomes the nominee. Draft funds are a persuasion tool to encourage someone to run for a specific office.
As a nonprofit, we use tips from donors to pay our bills. We do not profit from any of the contributions we process, including nominee funds. You can add an optional tip for us on the contribution form when you enter your credit card information.
