Getting To Know Your ActBlue Express Account

Supporters like you can use an ActBlue Express account to make fundraising for and donating to your favorite candidates and causes  even easier. ActBlue Express offers many benefits and tools.  Use this guide to help you navigate your account. 

Creating and logging in to your account

Create an ActBlue Express account, or log in if you already have one

 

You can always sign in at secure.actblue.com  by clicking the “Sign in” button in the upper right-hand corner of the homepage. You can sign in without entering a password if you created your ActBlue account using a Gmail or Gmail-affiliated email address. Click “Sign in with Google” and select the account associated with your ActBlue login.

 

 

 

Upon logging in, you will land on your Home page. From the Home page, you can view your most recent contributions and easily donate again  or resend yourself a receipt. 

From the Home page, you can search for candidates and nonprofits to donate to and view your recently earned badges. 

 

 

From the navigation bar on the left side of your dashboard, you can access contributions, fundraising information, badges, and the browse feature. 

 

 

Contributions

History

 

Donors who haven’t saved their personal information in their ActBlue Express account can't view their contribution history.

Select “History” from the left navigation bar to view your past contributions. 

You can see the following information for each of your donations:

  • The donation amount
  • The group you gave to
  • The date you gave
  • Payment method
  • Whether it was a charitable 501(c)(3) donation

You can change the timeframe for the donations shown by clicking on the dropdown and choosing a date range. Pick an option in the dropdown menu or select a custom timespan on the calendar.

 

 

Click the “Filter” button to filter by recipient, charitable 501(c)(3) donations, or recurring donations.

 

 

Use the dropdown menu on the right for different sorting options. 
 

 

Next to each donation is a link you can click to donate again to that same group. there is also a button with three dots: click on it to open a dropdown menu. From here you can either resend yourself the email receipt for your contribution or request a refund.

 

When you resend yourself your receipt, it will go to the email address you used when donating.

Recurring

Click “Recurring” in the left navigation bar to view tabs for active and inactive recurring contributions. Inactive contributions are those that you completed or canceled.

 

Click on an active recurring contribution to see more information about the donation, email the contribution receipt to yourself again, change the dollar amount or recurring schedule, or cancel that recurring donation. 

In the expanded view of your recurring contribution, you can view every completed billing of your recurring donation by clicking on "Completed contributions" below the contribution's order number and start date.

The link will provide a page of a recurring contribution's transaction history, with the ability to show a web receipt for each instance that you donated.

Insights

 

Select “Insights” from the left navigation bar to view your all-time giving history, starting with how much you have donated through ActBlue and a list of all contributions organized by recipients.

 

 

Fundraising

You can fundraise for your favorite groups on ActBlue and easily access any contribution forms you make. Select “Fundraising” from the left navigation bar. From the Fundraising page, you can fundraise with community forms and find a list of your community and supporter forms. Learn more about raising money for your favorite candidates and causes.

 

Badges

Donor badges allow you to celebrate your achievements as an ActBlue Express user. Earn badges when you take different actions or reach organizing milestones. Log in to your ActBlue Express account to view the badges you've earned and those you have yet to earn.

Browse

Click “Browse” in the left navigation bar to find a campaign or organization to donate to.

 

 

Search for a specific candidate or organization by name or use our filters to search by upcoming elections, state or territory, office sought, committee type, fund type (like nominee funds  and draft funds ), or nonprofit issue area.

 

 

 

Once you find a group to give to, you can donate or create a community form from the search results. You can also follow a group on social media by clicking the links in the dropdown menu. Learn more about finding campaigns and organizations to support. 

Updating your personal information

Keep your saved information up to date because when you donate with your ActBlue Express account, this information will automatically fill in.

To update your contact or personal information, click on the Account menu and choose “ActBlue Express Profile.”

 

 

You can update the following information:

  • Contact Info: Update your name, email, phone (optional for donating), and address. We use this information to send you email receipts, so make sure it’s up to date!
  • Employment: Update your employer and employer’s address. Finance law requires reporting your name, address, occupation, and employer, some states also require your employer’s address. You can update and save your employer without adding an address.
  • Tip: ActBlue is a nonprofit  powered by small-dollar donors like you. You can choose to tip  us each time you give using your ActBlue Express account and define how much to tip.

Updating your payment information

You can easily manage saved payment methods from your ActBlue Express account. Click “Payment Methods” from the Account dropdown menu.

 

 

You can update your current credit card information, change your default payment method, and add a new credit card or PayPal™ account to your ActBlue Express account.

You cannot save Venmo™Apple Pay®, or Google Pay™ to your ActBlue Express account, but if you have Apple Pay or Google Pay set up on your device, you can use it to donate. If you have the Venmo app, you can use it to make one-time contributions. 

Additionally, updating your credit card information in your account will not update the payment information on your recurring donations. Learn how to update recurring contributions.

Changing your password

Sign in to your ActBlue Express account. Click on the Account menu at the top of your screen and select “Settings” from the dropdown.

 

 

 

 

 

On the Settings page, click “Change password.”

 

 

A pop-up will ask you to enter your current password or a temporary code. Next, type in your new password. Use at least eight characters, including one number and one letter. Read the full instructions for changing your password.

 

 

Using your account on a mobile device

 

 

 

 

 

Upon logging in via mobile, you will land on the Home page. Click the menu button to find all menu options and navigate your dashboard.

 

 

You can also create community forms to fundraise for your favorite groups on a mobile device. Select “Fundraising” in the Account menu and select the “Create form” button to start fundraising on the go.
