Guidelines for Using ActBlue's Name

At ActBlue, we’ve worked hard to establish a brand that millions of donors trust. It’s vital that donors are not misled about the security, strength, and viability of our platform. Fundraising solicitations that disparage ActBlue erode the trust the donors have in our platform – and damage all of us. To protect donor trust, we ask that every campaign or organization using our platform adhere to strict guidelines when mentioning our platform.

Under our Account Use Policy, Section 7, text and email fundraising solicitations may not:

  • Imitate communication from ActBlue and/or pretend to speak on behalf of ActBlue.
  • Undermine ActBlue’s credibility by falsely stating or falsely implying a security or technical problem with our platform.

Fundraising solicitations that do any of the following are not allowed under our Account Use Policy and Terms of Service:

  • Fundraising solicitations cannot suggest that ActBlue “may go away at any minute” or make similar assertions about our ability to continue providing services.
  • Fundraising solicitations that link to an ActBlue contribution page cannot encourage donors to use other fundraising platforms.

If you are unsure if the language you hope to use meets our guidelines, contact your ActBlue representative or get in touch with us, and we can review it for you.
