What is the Goal Tracker?

The Goal Tracker is a tool available on all ActBlue contribution forms that allows your campaign or organization to set a fundraising goal and then see real-time progress made towards that goal as donors contribute. In most cases, you can even embed a Goal Tracker on your website.

We recommend adding a Goal Tracker to your form if you're fundraising on a deadline and want to communicate this urgency to your donors.

How do I create and customize the Goal Tracker?

To create and customize your Goal Tracker, start by logging onto your ActBlue Dashboard and navigating to the Contribution Forms tab.

Next, identify which form you'd like to add a Goal Tracker to, click the three grey dots under the Actions heading, and then select Edit Form from the dropdown options provided. This will automatically open the Form Editor menu.

From the Form Editor menu, select the Goal Tracker tab:

Next, click the blue Create a Goal button:

This should trigger a live preview of your Goal Tracker to appear on the right side of your screen in the form preview.

Once your Goal Tracker is "live," select either Dollars or Donations from the dropdown provided. Then, enter your goal (ex. $1,000 or 1000 donations):

You can also customize the title of your Goal Tracker from this tab. Please note that if no title is added, the Goal Tracker will automatically be given the title of your form.

Additionally, the Goal Tracker tab will allow you to add stretch goals to your tracker so that if your initial goal is hit, your tracker will automatically update to a new, higher goal without you needing to make any manual updates. To add stretch goals to your Goal Tracker, simply enter the stretch amounts with no spaces, separated by a comma (ex. 2000,3000,4000).

Lastly, the Goal Tracker tab will allow you to add a custom start date (if the date you want to begin tracking donations differs from the creation date of your form), an additional raised amount (if you've raised additional funds towards this goal outside of ActBlue), and custom fonts and colors.

When you're finished editing, be sure to click the green Publish button to save your changes. Please note that you will need to hit Publish to see several of the above changes take effect.

Please also note that if you change a form’s language to Spanish, the ActBlue-provided text within the Goal Tracker will translate to Spanish as well (even if the Goal Tracker is embedded on a third party website):

Can I embed a Goal Tracker onto my website?

In most cases, yes!

To embed a Goal Tracker onto your website, simply open up the Form Editor, navigate to the Goal Tracker tab, scroll to the bottom, and select the blue Generate Embed button. Please note that you will have needed to have created and published a Goal Tracker before this option will become available.

Clicking the Generate Embed button will trigger a pop-up that displays your Goal Tracker's embeddable code. Click the black Copy button to add the code to your clipboard. You will then need to paste this code into your webpage's source code (or HTML) wherever you want the Goal Tracker to appear. For additional assistance with this, we recommend contacting your team or webmaster.
