When you donate to a group through ActBlue, we are legally required to collect your personal information so that the campaigns and organizations you give to can properly report your contributions to the appropriate regulatory body.
As federal law requires, ActBlue reports and itemizes (lists the donor name and information) every federal donation that comes through our platform to the Federal Election Commission, including those under $200.
Most contributions require your name, address, occupation, and employer, but laws in some states also require your employer’s address.
Providing a phone number when donating is optional. We pass along your number to the group you gave to and no one else. This contact information is vital for groups running grassroots fundraising programs. We never sell or share your personal information with anyone beyond the group you gave to, and ActBlue will never text you.
If you want to stop receiving emails from a group, you can usually find an “Unsubscribe” link at the end of most emails.
Our Customer Service Team is here to help. Contact us with any questions about using ActBlue.
