Are my contributions processed securely?
We have robust security and fraud prevention measures in place, including:
- ActBlue employs a certified credit card security program to protect donor information, which receives Level 1 ratings. This is the highest level of compliance and payment security standards possible for merchants under the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS).
- Contributions are reviewed for indications of fraud. We use the standard fraud prevention tool trusted by many large-scale e-commerce merchants to review each contribution, and manually review donations that are flagged with risk factors.
- Cardholder addresses are checked using the industry-standard Address Verification Service (AVS) to ensure they match those at issuing banks.
- Use of Card Verification Values (CVVs).
- A security team that is constantly evolving our work to stay ahead of political and technical threats and keep our website and donor information safe.
- All of these measures are in addition to the fraud protections that banks and credit card companies provide on all transactions.
We are committed to making sure all donors have a positive experience using ActBlue and have dedicated customer service teams standing by to support you. If you believe there was a fraudulent charge on your card, please use our self-service tool or contact our customer service team.
