Am I using Raise by ActBlue or Core ActBlue?

This article explains the difference between Core ActBlue and Raise by ActBlue, how to figure out which solution type your account is set up with, and how to confirm your solution from your fundraising Dashboard.

What is the difference between Core ActBlue and Raise by ActBlue?

ActBlue offers two solutions for campaigns and organizations looking to fundraise with our tools: Core ActBlue and Raise by ActBlue. You can find the primary differences in the chart below:

In most cases, you were likely prompted to select which solution type best suited your campaign or organization's needs during the account set-up process:

Step 4 of 5, Campaign Details, of the account signup flow, titled “Confirm your solution.” The text reads, “We think you’d be a great fit for Raise by ActBlue, designed for campaigns like yours!” Two options are listed: “Raise by ActBlue (Recommended),” which is selected, and “ActBlue,” which is unselected. Below, a “What is Raise by ActBlue?” box describes it as a new, user-friendly, and streamlined fundraising tool that helps you get started fast with an easy-to-use fundraising page with built-in best practices, and simplified donation tracking and reports. A “Save and Continue” button appears at the bottom.

Signup step “Confirm your solution” with ActBlue selected over the recommended Raise by ActBlue option. An info box explains that ActBlue suits campaigns needing advanced customization, multiple fundraising pages, or complex reports, while Raise is built for small teams, newcomers, and state and local campaigns.

What if my account wasn't set up this way or I can't remember which solution I selected?

If you're unsure whether you have an ActBlue or Raise by ActBlue Dashboard, you can easily confirm your solution type by signing into ActBlue and navigating to your My Dashboards.

The My Dashboards tab will display all Dashboards you have access to, as well as the solution type for each Dashboard. In the example shown below, the Dashboard's solution type is listed as Raise by ActBlue.

“Your fundraising dashboards” page with a “+ New application” button at the top right. Intro text explains that fundraising dashboards are where you and your teammates get work done, and that if you need access to an ActBlue dashboard that isn’t listed, you can contact support. Under “Dashboards you have access to,” a table with columns for Committee or organization, Candidacy, Your role(s), Solution, Status, and Links shows one row: role Admin, solution Raise by ActBlue, status Active, with a “dashboard” link.

Can I tell which solution type I'm using from my fundraising Dashboard?

Yes! To confirm which solution type you're using from your Dashboard, simply inspect the logo and navigation bar displayed at the top of your screen.

If you see a white Raise by ActBlue logo on a navy blue navigation bar, then your solution type is Raise by ActBlue:

Raise by ActBlue navigation bar with the Raise logo on the left, followed by the menu items Overview, Fundraising Page (currently selected and underlined), Contributions, Reporting, Payouts, and a Settings dropdown with a gear icon.

If you see the standard ActBlue logo on a white navigation bar above a blue Dashboard banner, then your solution type is ActBlue:

ActBlue dashboard header with the ActBlue logo on the left and three dropdown menus on the right: Recent, Dashboards, and Manage. A blue banner below reads “Dashboard — ActBlue.”
