We're trying to reassign contacts, but a user's name isn't showing up in the drop-down.

If you're attempting to reassign contacts to a certain user, but their name isn't appearing in the drop-down list to select an individual user, try these things:
  • Make sure the user in question has a first and last name saved for their user account.

    • While the majority of volunteer users have their names saved in ActBlue Field Tools (inputting name is required upon onboarding), some users with older Field Tools accounts and many administrator users do not have names saved. That's why their name isn't appearing in the reassignment drop-down menu - it's not that they're not a user, just that their name isn't listed.

    • This is an easy fix - for the time being, user name editing is only doable via the volunteer mobile app. Have the unnamed user in question log in to the Field Tools mobile app using the same email address used with their preexisting Field Tools account; then navigate to the Profile tab (far right) > menu at the top-right corner > Settings > add a first/last name > Save Settings. Refresh the admin dashboard, and the user will now have a name saved - and they will be findable by that name in the contact reassignment dropdown for an individual user.
