Along with other email blurbs, you can customize thanks messages and the text in email receipts for individual contribution forms.
You can do this in the first few steps of creating a new form. Click “Create Form” and complete steps one and two (Basics and Style). In step three, customize your thanks and email receipt messages.
These are great opportunities to share important information regarding your cause or campaign. Here are some ideas for utilizing these fields:
- A reminder of when Election Day is
- A link to your website or social media
- A list of other ways to get involved or a volunteer sign-up page
If you want to edit or add thanks and receipt messages to forms you’ve already created, locate the contribution form by clicking “Contribution Forms” on your Dashboard.
Click the Edit button next to the form you want to customize.
Select the “Thanks and receipt” tab of the form editor to customize messages donors see after giving via this specific form.
Add a custom message to the email receipt in the “Email receipt text” field.
The “ActBlue Express blurb” encourages any donors without an ActBlue Express account to sign up for one. Leave them a note expressing how easy it is to donate when their information is saved, and let them know how much you value them taking the time to do so.
You can also customize the text supporters see after they give on your form by filling in your message in the “Thanks page blurb” box.
You can also enter a URL here for your donors to visit after the Thanks page. After contributing, ActBlue Express users will see a popup that says, “Your contribution succeeded, thanks!” for five seconds before being directed to your selected URL. You could send your donors to an action page on your website or redirect them to a volunteer form. They’ll still receive their email receipt automatically upon contributing.
Once you’ve finished making your changes, click the green “Publish” button at the top of the form editor.
The amount of support that the ActBlue Customer Service Team can provide is dependent on the permissions that you have. Check with your entity Admin about your assigned role.
